Lying in the grass, under a green canopy of leaves and sprawling branches, we were enjoying a rare, cloudless blue sky in the grounds of London’s beautiful Fulham Palace. A sunny Sunday afternoon with our family.
We were mind and body biohacking, listening to a healing soundbath, given by a very cool local practitioner, while grounding in the great outdoors.
The vibrations moved through the air. We just lay there, breathing. Receiving. Something profound was happening beneath the surface. Muscles released tension we didn’t even know we had. Our hearts slowed. Our minds went quiet.
And then came the voice. Not just an instrument or recorded frequency, but a human voice, resonating in real time. Alive. Intentional.
It didn’t matter that the words weren’t always in English. Or sometimes in any language at all. There was something ancestral and deeply familiar about it, like our cells remembered a time when healing didn’t come in the form of pills or prescriptions but through energy, frequency and vibration.
The human voice carries more than melody. It carries emotion, memory, medicine. When we speak, hum, sing, or even sigh with awareness, we’re activating one of the most ancient healing tools we have.
It’s not just pretty metaphor – our voice literally vibrates through our bones, our fascia, our tissues. It stimulates the vagus nerve, helps regulate our nervous system, and can bring us back into coherence: mentally, physically and emotionally.
Singing softly into your chest or belly can calm anxiety. Toning a single note can clear stuck energy. Expressing a sound that’s never had permission to be voiced can unlock grief, joy or insight, in an instant.
This isn’t new-age crap. It’s biology and somatic intelligence. It’s real.
Isn’t that magical?! Our voices are not just for speaking or performing but also for healing. For remembering who we are, in the stillness, beneath all the noise.
We learned in our recent Sound Healing with Voice training in 2023/24 that “sound is the medicine of the future” and feel grateful to realise that sound is a medicine for right now.
It’s by design that Incognito Artists is in the business of using the healing power of the human voice to positively impact humanity.
At a time when joy, peace and unity are needed more than ever.
Love,
Geoff + Simone
