Celebrating life and love
We have just been sent the most beautiful photographs from a wedding we performed at last April. Reliving those two days (a country brunch followed by the main event at The Rosewood) got me thinking how lucky we are that we get invited to be a part of the most special day of people’s lives! That our performances touch, move, and inspire people as they celebrate life and possibility. It’s pretty cool, right?
Incognito Artists has been a part of tonnes of awesome occasions, and although we’re known for our singing waiters for weddings we’ve worked with so many brides and grooms to come up with the most unique wedding entertainment ideas I just really wanted to share some of those with you.
The wedding last April was incredible for so many reasons; the stunning venue, the amazing flowers, the jaw-dropping hand painted cake flown in from France.. I could go on. Mostly though, it was one of my favourite gigs we’ve done because of the sheer joy on people’s faces when the ‘waitress’ burst into a beautiful aria of O Mio Babbino Caro, followed by the ‘Chef’ leaping up on to the fountain with a boot-stomping Queen Medley. Grandmothers, Aunties, Nephews, Cousins, Friends (old and new) all holding hands, huge smiles across their faces… This was surprise wedding entertainment at its finest.
It didn’t stop there though – the following day, the day of the wedding, we put on a performance worthy of the West End and Broadway. In fact, all our wedding performers work as lead roles on the West End or Broadway so they bring that special magic with them! It was like nothing I’d seen before – a dance troop, tenors, divas, Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, light displays, a roving saxophonist (Sax Kitten), magicians… The unique wedding ideas and the sheer display of talent and skill we’d put together for this day made me proud, but ultimately seeing the elated faces of the bride and groom, and their guests, was what made it.
Coming to work and being able to do that for people – well, it’s why I don’t consider what I do as work!
